Amanda Lim

Despite her relative youth, Amanda Lim (born in 2000) has already demonstrated remarkable promise and maturity in her artistic output. Her most recent solo exhibition, "A Second Before Awakening," showcases her exploration of the convergence between the images of reality and those of the subconscious, as expressed through her acrylic-on-canvas paintings. She concentrates on exploring the realms of realism and expressionism in her depictions of humans, spaces, and still-life figures, employing oil and acrylic paints as her primary media. By incorporating vivid, psychedelic pastel colors, she creates dream-like compositions that are visually captivating.

Amanda continues to draw upon memories from her life to express her thoughts and emotions. Given her tendency to engage in extensive introspection, Amanda creates her artworks with metaphorical and symbolic elements in mind, aiming to convey deeper meaning through her art. Although difficult to convey physically, painting offers a means of representing these intangible experiences visually. Through the blending of colors in her artwork, she weaves tales of the different hues in her life that have converged to create the paths depicted in her paintings.
